Introduction

I'm a long-time Linux geek from Seattle, and just coming off of eight years doing development and configuration for companies big and small using open source components. Mostly I'm focused on standards based web application development. Starting this fall (2006), I'm a full-time college student at the University of Washington studying Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology, and Japanese.

I'm an avid cyclist, and just getting into GIS and GPS technology. I was kicking around ideas for a user reported route based trip planner when I found byCycle.

Adding Seattle to the trip planner is my first goal, and I hope to have something showable for the August 29th public forum on Seattle's Bicycle Master Plan.

I have a lot of experience with PostgreSQL development and administration, and intend to ramp up on PostGIS for the migration.

Also, I'm interested in pursuing my original ideas around user submitted routes and integrating the product into byCycle.

I'm glad to pitch in with systems administration, web app programming and debugging, testing (and test-driven efforts), and anything else you care to ping me on.

Oh, and this is what I look like after a tough day of backpacking. =)
